A New Work Commitment

…and I have stuck to it thus far this fall. If you know me, you know that I am an insane work-a-holic. Dating back to my CAC days, I would often arrive on campus by 6:30 am and work until 7:00 pm. This got even worse in Houston with traffic and an increase in the amount of research and academic projects I found myself working on. I told students of my new schedule this fall and those who know me laughed. But I must say I have done (kind of) well so far, often taking my work to the OC (my favorite place in the Heights) or home. Again, this is one of many new commitments. I realize this might not last as I have already started committing to do more outside academic work. Below is what is published on my webpage

and outside my campus door.

  1. It’s all about balance, my friend. There’s a saying that goes “no one ever lies on their deathbed wishing they’d spent more time at the office.” I think that’s an important idea to truly understand…

  2. I agree, it is all about balance. I must admit that I am impressed with your attempt at this. You do work too much. I will call you and see if you really leave campus as early as you say. Take care bro.
